How to Reset Fake AirPods? (Simple User Guide)

There are tons of knockoff Airpods available at comparatively cheaper rates than the original ones. However, It can be confusing as the Fake Airpods don’t have a proper instruction manual. You might struggle a bit while using them. That’s why I suggest you reset Fake AirPods. 

At first, I was skeptical and asked myself, “Do fake Airpods work”? 

It is really easy to reset fake AirPods back to their original settings. It hardly takes a few seconds to reset, and as a pair of AirPod knockoffs owner, you should know how to factory reset one. 

How can I Reset my Airpods? 

Well, the way you reset fake AirPods ultimately depends on what sort of knockoffs you have bought yourself.  You can get your AirPod factory reset using the button on the AirPods case or pin in case no buttons are available. 

1st Step – Go to Bluetooth settings, then find your AirPods name there i10, i11, i12, or something different. Click on Forget device once you detect the device name. 

Method #1 Reset Fake AirPods with Button 

If you have bought the A1 grade version of Fake AirPods that comes with the drop-down stem and airpods case exactly the same as the original case, then follow the instructions below. 

These reset instructions will work on i10. i11, i12 with True Wireless Stereo (TWS).

1. Put both earbuds back inside the fake airpods charging case, and shut the lid for 30 seconds to switch it off properly. 
2. Before proceeding with your airpods reset button, ensure they are fully charged.
3. Check the location of the reset button on your knockoff AirPods case. By default product design, even the replica button is at the back of the case incognito under the case color.
4. Now Open the lid, and press the button for 15 seconds. Depending on your AirPods knockoffs model, the status light can change color from one color to another or start blinking after 15 seconds. 
5. You might need to press the reset button for up to 10  or 20 seconds, depending on your AirPod model.

NOTE: Following these steps, your knockoff AirPods will be reset to the factory settings. Go to Bluetooth settings and forget your device connection before resetting. 

Method #2 Reset Fake Airpods without Button 

If you have knockoff AirPods that don’t have any reset button. Then follow these steps to reset your fake Airpods. There are chances to have capacitive buttons on the earpiece or stems if not on the case. Check out the instructions below to reset:

1. Put the earbuds into the Airpods case for charging, and close the lid for 30 seconds to turn the AirPods off.
2. Let your AirPods fully charge before you reset them.
3. Please take out the AirPods and put them on. For 3 to 5 seconds, Press the stem after you hear an unpairing sound. Make sure to listen to the sound from both AirPods.
4. Check if your Airpod knockoffs come with Built-In Capacitive Touch near the earpiece instead of the stem. 
5. After the reset, your earbud must be unpaired. To pair them again, repeat the touch-and-hold process near the earpiece or stem to activate the wireless pairing mode. You will hear a pairing sound from both AirPods.

NOTE: If you don’t hear any unpairing sound, try again and hold for 3 to 5 seconds.

Method # 3 Reset Fake Airpods Using a Pin

This reset method is applicable if your knockoff AirPods have a tiny hole under or at the back of your case.  

1. Put both AirPods for charging inside the case, and shut the lid for 30 seconds to turn them off. 
2. Let your AirPods fully charge before you start resetting them.
3. Look for the pin on your knockoff AirPods case, usually found on the back or below the case.
4. Insert the pin in the hole and gently press until you feel a button pressed.
5. Press and hold for 10 to 15 seconds till you notice changes or blinking in the status light. 
6. Once you hear a tone from your AirPods signaling that the knockoff AirPods have been reset.

Fake AirPods Not Charging – Quick Fix 

You get Fake AirPods for almost half the original AirPods’ price. Some Fake ones are worth your money even though they have frequent charging or pairing issues. Here are some quick Airpod charging fixes:

1. First, Clean up the inside of your case and the outside of your AirPods. Make sure the point of contact is clean on both ends.
2. Try connecting a charger with another USB cable.
3. Charge your Fake AirPods with a power brick. 
4. Try to Reset the fake AirPods and then charge them. 

Fake AirPods from Alibaba or Aliexpress can malfunction if overcharged. Therefore, try not to charge overnight. To avoid possible charging issues and damage from overcharging, only charge for 1 or 3 hours.

Original Airpods can be way more than your new gadget savings. Therefore knockoff AirPods come at an affordable price and work on Android devices, yet there can be a few cons to buying them.
